Staikouras is an associate professor of financial law at the department of finance and bank administration of the University of Piraeus and partner at Mikroulea-Staikouras & Associates law firm.  His work comprises mainly publications in financial law in domestic and international magazines (for example, European Business Law Review, European Business Organization Law Review, Legal Issues of Economic Integration, Journal of Corporate Law Studies, Journal of Banking Regulation, Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance, Journal of Business Law, European Journal of Law and Economics, Financial Markets, Institutions & Instruments, Review of Finance, International Journal of Banking, Accounting and Finance, Management Science).
He is also a speaker in conferences in Greece and abroad and a member of law drafting committees in the field of capital market law. He is a certified mediator by the Ministry of Justice and an alternate member of the EODID Supervisory Board.
