I. Chamilothoris is Chairman of the Society of Judicial Studies. He served as Chairman of the three-member Management Council of the Athens Court of First Instance (March 1998 – March 2000) and Chairman of the three-member Management Council of the Athens Court of Appeals (April 2010 – September 2012).

He served as Chairman of the law drafting Committee for the reform of the Code of Civil Procedure (Law No. 4335/2015) and Chairman of the Committee for the preparation and coordination of the Hellenic Presidency in the EU on matters of justice (2014). He was member and Chairman of the Central law drafting Committee. Furthermore, he has participated as the nation’s representative in work groups in the Council of Europe in matters of civil and criminal law (Civil Law Committee, Committee of article 36 of the EU Treaty etc.)

He has authored numerous studies in matters of civil, commercial, civil procedure and EU law (for example, ADR in civil cases, interim measures, enforcement, non-contentious proceedings, statute of limitations regarding the liability of the manufacturer of defective products, EU directive on late payments in commercial transactions, European arrest warrant). He teaches at the Hellenic National School of Judges. He is a certified mediator by the Ministry of Justice.
