Professional Career: Alexander Marcopoulos, of U.S and Greek Nationality, is an attorney-at-law with the New York Bar Association and a counsel in Shearman & Sterling’s International Arbitration Group. He represents companies and States in commercial, investor/state and maritime arbitrations carried out under the auspices of a variety of institutional rules, including those of the ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, SCC and the LMAA. He has extensive experience in arbitration, as a legal counsel to international corporations (energy companies, construction contractors, investment banks, retail companies, governments etc). He is member of several arbitration groups and organizations, lecturer in academic programs, speaker in arbitration related conferences and writer of legal articles.
