Professional Career
He is a founding partner at Wordstone, specialising in international commercial and investment arbitration, with a historic focus on disputes involving States and State-owned entities. He is consistently recognised in the Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 directories as one of the most pre-eminent arbitration practitioners globally. He was named the Best Lawyers® 2024 International Arbitration “Lawyer of the Year” in France. He also maintains a Band 1 ranking in the Chambers Latin America Guide 2025 for international arbitration. In The Legal 500, he is ranked in the Hall of Fame for international arbitration in both the Latin America and EMEA guides. In the Lexology Index, (previously the Who’s Who Legal reports), he is recognised as a Global Elite Thought Leader for Arbitration across several reports. He is also recommended in Energy. In addition, has published several articles, books and chapters on international arbitration, including its lectures on “Legal Fictions in the Language of International Arbitration” delivered at the Hague Academy of International Law in 2019.
