Stevan Dimitrijević is a Senior Partner and one of the founders of Dimitrijević & Partners. He is registered as an Attorney at Law in both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia. Before establishing his legal practice, Stevan worked in the banking sector across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Greece, gaining extensive regional experience dating back to 1999. He advises clients in complex litigation and arbitration and is known for his pragmatic approach focused on achieving efficient and strategic outcomes. Stevan represents clients in high-value disputes before local courts and international arbitral institutions, and he also serves as an arbitrator in Bosnia and Herzegovina and internationally, with experience in both commercial and investment arbitration.
Stevan is a licensed mediator with significant experience applying mediation techniques in dispute-resolution processes, particularly in cross-border and investment-related matters. His academic work focuses on mediation in investment arbitration, and he regularly counsels clients on negotiation strategy and alternative dispute resolution. Throughout his career, he has led major energy and infrastructure projects and numerous M&A transactions involving inbound and outbound investments. His areas of expertise include investment protection, international dispute resolution, mediation, corporate and M&A advisory, financial services, bankruptcy, and competition law. He also advises foreign and domestic clients on business structuring in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
Stevan holds an LL.B. from the University of Belgrade and an LL.M. from the University of Banja Luka. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Belgrade in the field of Private International Law and Investment Arbitration, focusing on foreign investment protection and mediation in ISDS. He has represented governments, multinational companies, and private investors in significant disputes, including investment arbitration cases and major commercial matters, and has served as arbitrator in proceedings under VIAC and other regional institutions.
Stevan has been individually recognized as a “Leading Individual” in Commercial, Corporate, and M&A law by Legal 500 EMEA and ranked in Band 1 by Chambers and Partners Global Guide 2024.
