Venia Papathanasopoulou is an Attorney-at-Law at the Supreme Court, LL.M. (University of ESSEX, England), currently being the Legal Director and Secretary to the BoD of ATHENS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT S.A. (AIA), with great experience in negotiations with Ministries, Local Authorities and wider Public sector, as well as arbitral proceedings (before the London Court of International Arbitration – LCIA) as being the legal representative of AIA in accordance with LCIA’s rules.
She is a CEDR UK Accredited Mediator and certified by the Greek Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, Member of the BoD of the Hellenic Mediation Society (ELPIDIA), Member of the Mediation Centre of Europe, of the Mediterranean and of the Middle East – CEM (Cour Européenne d’ Arbitrage – CEA) and Member of various Greek and International Associations. She participates as Judge at the Universities competitions Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna.
She was a Member of the BoD at the Greek National Opera and is presently a Member of the BoD at Athens Airport Fuel Pipeline Company S.A. In addition, she is the Treasurer to the Board of Transparency International (TI) Greece, providing as well pro bono legal services to TI Greece.
She worked as General Counsel, Legal Advisor and Company Secretary in companies such as PUBLIC POWER CORPORATION S.A., ORGANISING COMMITTEE FOR THE ATHENS 2004 OLYMPIC GAMES S.A. (ATHOC), STOCK EXCHANGE S.A., PRESS INSTITUTE S.A., GREEK ORGANISATION OF FOOTBALL PROGNOSTICS (OPAP S.A.), QUEST Holdings S.A.
She is a regular member of the EODID Supervisory Board.
