Education: Graduate of the German School of Athens (1963); Law Degree, University of Athens (1968); Master’s Degree, University Paris II (DES de Droit Public, 1974), where he also attended courses in European Law during his sabbatical (1988-1989).
Professional Career: P. Pikrammenos served as a judge at the Council of State from his appointment in 1976 until his retirement in 2012 as President of the Council of State. He was a rapporteur in important cases (forest law case, the Acropolis Museum case, the AEK stadium case). During his presidency, many important rulings have been issued (on the Greek Bailout, KalliKratis case etc). From 1969 until 1973 he practised as a lawyer in Athens, focusing on maritime law, and in London at Ince & Co. He has served as member of judicial and service councils, law drafting committees and of the Special Highest Court. He acted as advisor to the Prime Minister in matters of public law (1991-1993) and he was a member of KENE (1990-1991). Along with his duties as a judge, he was the General Director of the National School of Judges from 2005 until 2009, when he was promoted to President of the Council of State. In May 16, 2012, he was sworn as Prime Minister, after the President of the Republic assigned him with the formation of an acting government for the purposes of holding the elections. He is a certified mediator by the Ministry of Justice and President of OPEMED for the promotion of ADR.
