Professional Career: Ms Gavouneli is an attorney-at-law with the Athens Bar Association, Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Athens and Associate Research Fellow with the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London. She is member of the Management Group and lead examiner of the Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions (OECD), having served as Vice-President in 2005-2013. Since 2005, she is Head of delegation and examiner for the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) at the Council of Europe. She is member of the Greek National Commission of Human Rights, member of the European Coordination Committee (ECC) at the European Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI), co-chair of the Working Group on Asylum and Migration. She has authored four treatises and numerous articles.
